While serving a 10-year sentence in the Washington State Department of Corrections, Victor Sauceda trained himself to become a computer programmer. Since his release, he has worked to master his craft and he founded VictoryCode.co to teach others how to live productively in a digital age.

Victor Sauceda, the founder of VictoryCode.co, shares his story about preparing for success after prison. While serving a 10-year sentence in the Washington State Department of Corrections, he transformed his life. Instead of adjusting in the ways that other people in prison advised, Victor chose to work on personal development projects. While serving a sentence in the Washington State Department of Corrections, his decisions positioned him for success.

During his imprisonment, Victor avoided behavior that would lead to disciplinary infractions. Instead, he participated in educational courses—including several Prison Professors programs, such as the Straight-A Guide. He welcomed an opportunity to learn from people that transformed while incarcerated.

Victor participated in programs that exposed him to computer coding. When he walked out of prison in 2019, he took jobs that would allow him to build stability. A coding academy and an internship helped him build upon the skills he learned in prison.
